As President and CEO of PetroChina Canada, Jilin Fu is responsible for leading the company's strategic, financial and operational performance. With more than 32 years of experience in the petroleum industry, Fu's business experience spans a variety areas, including geological engineering, exploration, reserves, seismic surveying, strategic planning and project management.
Prior to being named President and CEO of PetroChina Canada in 2017, Fu was Chief Engineer of CNODC. In addition to his time working in China and Canada, Fu has 19 years of working experience in Africa, primarily in Niger, Mauritania and Sudan. He spent 10 years as Country Manager and President & General Manager (PDG) of several subsidiaries of CNODC in Niger, including CNPCIT and CNPCIN, where he was responsible for exploration, development and pipeline projects.
From 2005 to 2007, Fu managed exploration projects in Mauritania as General Manager of CNPC International (Mauritania) Ltd, a subsidiary of CNODC, he was a Senior Geologist at China National Oil & Gas Development Corporation (CNODC) in Beijing in 2005, and he was a Wellsite Geological Supervisor in Sudan from 1998 to 2005.
Fu holds a Doctoral Degree in Structural Geology from the University of Chinese Academy Sciences in Beijing, He completed a Project Management Professional (PMP) Program at the Asian American Studies Center at the University of Houston, and he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Jianghan Petroleum Institute in Hubei Province, China.
