On Dec. 1, 2016 PetroChina Canada achieved the First Steam milestone at MacKay River Commercial Project. We’ve started producing steam from the plant to send to the well pads. It’s a momentous milestone; one we’ve been working toward for years and one of many that leads us to our first oil and revenue (expected in August 2017).
Safety frames everything we do at PetroChina Canada. As we transitioned the project from construction through plant commissioning and into plant operations, we’ve had some great achievements in health and safety:
- We achieved 205 days of Goal Zero, approximately 900,000 work hours without a recordable injury
- Zero injuries related to Commissioning & Start Up or operations activities
- Zero reportable spills
